Toronto, ON - eBay Inc. today announced the appointment of Jordan Banks to the position of managing director, eBay Canada (www.ebay.ca). A Toronto native and five-year employee at eBay Canada, Jordan was most recently the head of business and strategic development for eBay's Canadian office. In his new role, Jordan becomes the senior-level executive responsible for all of eBay Canada's operations and will continue to be located in eBay Canada's offices in Toronto.

As managing director, Jordan assumes overall responsibility for the ongoing development of eBay Canada, including operations, marketing and building the eBay brand and community of users in Canada. Hired in November 2000, Jordan has the distinction of being eBay Canada's second employee and has played a lead role in building the Canadian team. As head of business and strategic development, Jordan was responsible for all of eBay Canada's key strategic business relationships and seller development initiatives. In his five-year tenure, Jordan also ran the category and product functions for the company.

Prior to joining eBay Canada, Jordan was senior manager of licensing and international business at the National Hockey League Players' Association where he was responsible for supervising and managing global retail product licensees, negotiating license and international event agreements, and identifying and pursuing new areas of business for the organization. A graduate of Western Ontario University and Osgood Hall Law School, Jordan practiced corporate finance law at Goodmans, where he provided counsel for several of Canada's largest companies in their capacities as both lenders and borrowers.

Former eBay.ca vice president and country manager Gary Briggs has been named vice president of marketing for PayPal, an eBay company and the leading global online payment company, based in San Jose, CA.
