New "Reviews & Guides" Make Buying on eBay Easier Than Ever - November 3, 2005 |
New feature taps into the expertise and opinions of 168 million eBay users worldwide
Toronto, ON - eBay Canada (www.ebay.ca) is making online shopping easier than ever with the introduction of Reviews & Guides (http://reviews.ebay.ca) - a new feature designed to help eBay users make more informed choices when shopping online.
The Reviews & Guides feature enables eBay members to tap into the combined expertise and opinions of 168 million eBay users worldwide. Users will be able to generate product reviews and ratings for a variety of items on eBay as well as create buying guides covering topics from purchasing a video camera to planning a wedding. With approximately 60 million items listed across more than 50,000 categories on eBay at any given time, Reviews & Guides offers online shoppers a valuable decision-making tool.
Reviews can be created for specific products (e.g., a specific model of a digital camera) but not individual sellers' eBay listings. Guides can be created for practically any topic, from buying a mountain bike to planning a family reunion. Over time, Reviews & Guides is expected to become a powerful knowledge base, freely accessible to the public.
Any eBay member can write a product review or buying guide to appear on the site. Instructions and pointers on how to write useful reviews and guides appear on the Reviews & Guides hub which can be accessed at http://reviews.ebay.ca.
