  1. To enter, starting on or about April 15, 2005, at 12:00:01 am ET online, your entry will be automatically generated to play when you purchase a vehicle or item (includes Passenger Vehicles, Motorcycles, Other Vehicles and Powersports) on eBay Motors via the Internet at www.eBayMotors.ca or www.eBayMotors.com during the contest period. All entrants must provide full information requested on the registration.
     
  2. No purchase entry: To enter without purchase you can mail an entry on a plain piece of paper with your full name, address, telephone, email address, age and a handwritten 100 word or more essay on "Why I want to But a Car on eBay" to: eBay Motors Win Your Purchase, PO Box 4018, Paris, ON N3L 3W9. Only one entry allowed per month. In the event it is discovered that you attempted to enter more than once per month, all your entries will be void. Each mail in entry must be in a separate envelope bearing sufficient postage. All entries must be received by 11:59:59 pm ET May 15, 2005 (the "Contest Closing Date"). All eligible entries received by the Contest Closing Date will be included for the Grand Prize draw. Sponsor will not be responsible for late, lost, misdirected, illegible, postage due or incomplete entries.
     
  3. Prize - There will be One (1) Grand Prize available to be won. Entrants who purchase a vehicle or item on eBay Motors will win their purchase (excluding shipping, duty, taxes, import, transaction, registration, certification or other costs associated with the transaction) to a maximum amount of $15,000.00 CDN. No Purchase entrants will be eligible for a cash payment of the average selling price of items sold in the contest categories during the contest period to a maximum of $15,000.00. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received by the Contest Closing Date.
     
  4. The Grand Prize draw will be conducted by the independent judges on or about 2:00 p.m. ET June 15, 2005, in Brantford, ON from all eligible entries received by the Contest Closing Date. The selected entrant will be contacted by email, telephone, mail or courier. In the event the selected entrant cannot be contacted within 10 DAYS of prize notification, or if any prize draw is returned as undeliverable, another selected entrant will be randomly chosen. The winner of the Grand Prize will be required to sign a standard Declaration and Liability Release form releasing eBay International AG, eBay Canada (the "Contest Sponsor"), their affiliates, and their directors, employees and agents, including their advertising and promotional agencies and the contest judging organization, from all liability.
     
  5. In order to win, the selected entrant must correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question without mechanical aid on the release form and must be eligible according to the official rules.
     
  6. The contest is open to all legal residents of Canada, who have reached the age of majority in their province of residence. Contest excludes employees (and persons with whom they are domiciled) of eBay International AG, eBay Canada (the "Contest Sponsor"), and their affiliates, as well as their advertising and promotional agencies and the independent contest judging organization. This contest is subject to all applicable Federal, Provincial and Municipal laws and regulations. All decisions of the independent contest judging organization are final and the Contest Sponsor and judging organization shall not be held responsible for any accident, negligence, printing, administrative or other errors that may arise or occur in connection with the contest. The Contest Sponsor reserves the right to modify, amend or terminate this contest with no obligation or liability, subject to applicable law and subject to the approval of the Quebec Regie.
     
  7. The Prize must be accepted as awarded, is non-refundable and non-transferable. The Contest Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize or any portion thereof with one of equal or greater value. No correspondence will be entered into except with the selected entrant. By entering this contest, the entrants consent to the use of their name, city of residence, video image, and/or photograph in any related publicity or Internet posting without compensation, except where prohibited.
     
  8. For Quebec residents, any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux (the "RACJ") for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a Prize may be submitted to the RACJ only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement. Termination or modification of the Contest is subject to authorization by the Quebec RACJ.
     
  9. All entries become the property of the Contest Sponsor upon receipt and will not be returned. No responsibility will be taken for any failure of the web site during the promotion or for any problems or technical malfunction of a telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail, on-line or Internet entry to be received by the Contest Sponsor due to technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any web site, or any combination thereof including any injury or damage to an entrant's or any other person's computer related to or resulting from playing or downloading any material in the promotion. The Contest Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion and subject to the consent of the Régie, to cancel or suspend this contest should a virus, bug or any other cause beyond the reasonable control of the Contest Sponsor corrupt the security or proper administration of the contest. Any attempt to deliberately damage any web site or to undermine the legitimate operation of this promotion is a violation of criminal and civil laws, and should such an attempt be made, the Contest Sponsor, reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law - including criminal prosecution. Entries are subject to verification and will be declared invalid if they are illegible, mechanically reproduced, mutilated, forged, falsified, altered or tampered with in any way. The winner will release eBay International AG, the Contest Sponsor, and their affiliates, as well as their directors, employees, and agents, including without limitation their advertising and promotion agencies and the contest judging agency, from any and all liability, loss or damage incurred with respect to the awarding, receipt, possession, and/or use or misuse of any prize.
     
  10. In the event of a dispute regarding the identity of the person submitting an electronic entry, the entry will be deemed to be submitted by the "authorized account holder". That is the person in whose name the eBay account is registered, provided that person meets all eligibility criteria set forth in the Eligibility section of these Official Rules. "Authorized Holder" shall mean the natural person assigned to the eBay address by an Internet Access provider, on-line service provider, or other organization (e.g., business, educational institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted email address. Contest Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual (and all of his or her entries) who tampers with the entry process.
