Creating shipping labels and packing slips on eBay

You can create shipping labels and packing slips on eBay using the Shippo label platform.

Benefits of creating shippings labels on eBay

Here's how printing labels and packing slips on eBay can save you time and effort:

  • When you include shipping information in your listing, the shipping and item information are pre-filled on the shipping label.

  • You can insure the package. You'll see the insurance confirmation on your seller's receipt and the shipping label.

  • Tracking or Delivery Confirmation information is automatically uploaded to eBay. You can check the shipping status of your shipped items in the Sold section of My eBay. Your buyers can also check the shipping status of packages from My eBay, so you’ll receive fewer emails from buyers.

  • It's free. You pay only for the cost of shipping.

Creating a shipping label

From My eBay

  1. Go to the "Items I've Sold" view in My eBay, check off each item you would like to ship, then select "Print Shipping Labels." You will be asked to log into Shippo. If you're using Shippo for the first time, you'll need to create a free Shippo account follow the on-screen instructions to complete setup.

  2. Create your shipping label by choosing a shipping service, entering your package’s weight and dimensions, and adding any options to your shipment.

  3. Enter Customs details (only for US and international shipments).

  4. Confirm shipping details and pay shipping costs with PayPal.

  5. Print your shipping label.

International shipping forms

Duties or tariffs are charged on certain items when they're shipped out of Canada. You can get the forms when printing labels through Shippo. Attach the appropriate forms to the outside of the package so customs officials can easily examine them.

Reprinting a label

You can reprint a label by going to the Sold section of My eBay and clicking View order details next to the item. On the Order Details page, click the Reprint link in the shipping information next to the item.

Voiding a label

You can void a label within 48 hours of creating the label. Your PayPal account will be credited for shipping and any other charges within 14 days.

To void a label:
  1. On the Order Details page, click the Void link in the shipping information next to the item.

  2. Select your reason for voiding the label.

  3. If you want to send a message to the buyer, enter it in the text box.

  4. Click Void shipping label.

Creating a packing slip

A packing slip is a receipt summarizing your sale on eBay. To print a packing slip, click the Print a packing slip link on the Shipping Label Confirmation page after printing a shipping label.

Fill out and print the packing slip and include it in the package before shipping.

Getting the package to the post office

If you are shipping your package using a Canada Post service, after affixing the label to your package, you can drop it off at any one of their 6,500 Post Offices across Canada, or in any street letterbox (where size permits).

Some shipping services, including Canada Post, also offer pickup services, either for free or for a fee. Refer to your carrier's website for specific details.

Checking shipping status

To check the shipping status of a package, go to the Sold section of My eBay and click the item’s tracking number.

Note: Not all shipping services are trackable. If the shipping service is non-trackable, the link in My eBay may only inform you of the date the label was printed.
