Reporting problems with your buyers

If you ever have a problem selling on eBay, we want to know about it. By letting us know what's happened, you help us prevent buyers from doing the same thing again.

If you have a problem with a buyer:
  1. Identify the issue.

  2. Learn more about what information is available.

  3. Find out what you can do about it.

Inappropriate Feedback comments

A buyer includes profane language or other content that's not allowed in a Feedback comment

Feedback manipulation

A buyer attempts to damage your Feedback score or detailed seller ratings (DSRs).

Feedback extortion

A buyer threatens to leave negative or neutral Feedback, or low detailed seller ratings (DSRs) for you unless you provide goods or services not included in your original listing.

Customs fraud

A buyer asks you to provide false information on a customs declaration form.

Misuse of Buyer Protection

You're trying to resolve a problem with a buyer using our Resolution Centre and the buyer is abusing the process.

Misuse of returns

You accept a return but receive:

  • A damaged item (different from the reason for the return)

  • A different item

  • An empty box

Or a buyer threatens to open a case because of having to pay a restocking fee.

Unpaid item

A buyer didn't pay for an item.

Find out what to do when a buyer doesn't pay.

If you can't work it out by communicating with your buyer, you can open a case in our Resolution Center.

Unwelcome bidding or buying

A buyer is bidding on your item just to leave you negative Feedback.

Select buyer requirements to block buyers who don't meet certain criteria.

Require immediate payment on Buy It Now and eBay Stores listings.

Place the member on your blocked bidder/buyer list.

Cancel bids.
