Listing in 2 categories

Reach more buyers and generate more interest in your item by listing in 2 categories. For example, you could list a vintage table from Japan in both the Asian Antiques category and the Antique Furniture category.

Fees

Listing in 2 categories increases your insertion fee and the fees for most listing upgrades (for example, Bold). The fees for scheduled listings, and final value fees remain the same whether you list in 1 category or 2.

For items listed in 2 categories, the final value fee is based on the fee schedule for the primary category.

For specific fee information, see the listing upgrade fees section of Fees for selling on eBay.

Category restrictions

Sellers can list in any 2 categories across the site except the following:

  • Adult items on eBay.com: You can't list an adult-oriented item in category outside of eBay's Adult Only section on eBay.com. If you do, your item will be moved to the appropriate category and no fees will be refunded. You can list your item in 2 subcategories within Adult Only on eBay.com. Please review our Adult Only category policy.

  • Business & Industrial: Listing in 2 categories isn't available for Capital Equipment.

  • DVD, HD DVD & Blu-ray: Listing in 2 categories isn't available for the DVD, HD DVD & Blu-ray category. If you choose this as your first category, you won't be able to select a second category. If you choose it as your second category, it will automatically be removed from the listing before you submit it.

  • Electronics: Listing in 2 categories isn't available for the following categories:

    • Electronics>GPS Navigation>GPS Systems

    • Electronics>iPod & MP3 Players

If you choose either of these as your first category, you won't be able to select a second category. If you choose either of theseas your second category, it will automatically be removed from the listing before you submit it.

  • Listings with variations on eBay.com: When creating a listing with variations (only availalbe on eBay.com), you might want to consider listing in only 1 category. Currently, you can create a listing with variations on eBay.com in the following categories:

    • Baby

    • Clothing, Shoes & Accessories

    • Crafts

    • Health & Beauty

    • Home & Garden (most sub-categories)

    • Jewelry & Watches

    • Pet Supplies

    • Sporting Goods

You can use our category look-up tool on eBay.com to find out if listings with variations are available in your category. Listings with variations depend on variation details and item specifics that might not be available in a second category. If you select a second category that doesn't allow variations, you won’t be able to create a listing with variations.

  • Motor Vehicles: Listing in 2 categories isn't available.

  • Real estate: Listing in 2 categories isn't available.

Note: As always, please list your item in appropriate categories. We investigate complaints and will move your listing if necessary.
