  • Which listings are affected

    Only listings created in US dollars on eBay.ca are affected by this change. Use the eBay Listing Look-up Tool to see and download the list of affected listings.

  • Active US Dollar (USD) listings on eBay.ca

    Auction-style and fixed price listings created before June 14, 2016 will not be affected while they are live. Once these listings end, you’ll need to change the listing currency to CAD or move the listings to eBay.com to relist. Learn more about how Good ‘Til Cancelled listings are affected.

    USD listings created on eBay.com are not affected.

New, relist, and sell similar

  • Creating new listings

    Starting on June 14, 2016 new listings created on eBay.ca can only be created in CAD. This change will apply to all selling tools, including:

    • The eBay.ca Sell Your Item form
    • The mobile web selling flows
    • eBay mobile apps
    • The eBay trading API
    • All third-party listing tools

    If you prefer to list in USD, you can still do so by listing on eBay.com.

  • Relisting ended listings

    Starting June 14, 2016, USD listings can no longer be relisted unless the listing currency is changed to CAD. If you prefer to relist in USD, you can create a new listing on eBay.com.

    Starting June 14, 2016, if you use sell similar to create a new listing on eBay.ca, and the sell similar listing is based on a USD listing, you’ll need to change your listing currency to CAD to proceed. If you prefer to relist in USD, you can create a new listing on eBay.com.

Updating prices to CAD manually

  • Relist your item

    Starting on June 14, 2016, if you attempt to relist a USD listing on eBay.ca, you’ll see an error message prompting you to change the listing currency to CAD. To continue, navigate to the currency selection dropdown menu in the listing form and follow these steps:

    1. Under Choose a currency, change the selection from US$ to C$.
    2. Update your prices and shipping costs to adjust for listing in CAD instead of USD.
    3. Relist your item.
  • Sell similar

    Starting on June 14, 2016, if you try to use sell similar on a listing that was created in USD, you’ll see an error message prompting you to change the listing currency to CAD. To continue, navigate to the currency selection dropdown menu in the listing form and follow these steps:

    1. Under Choose a currency, change the selection from US$ to C$.
    2. Update your prices and shipping costs to adjust for listing in CAD instead of USD.
    3. List your item.
  • Bulk Relist

    Starting June 14, 2016, if you attempt to bulk relist USD listings on eBay.ca, you’ll see an error message prompting you to change the listing currency to CAD. To continue, you’ll have to perform the following changes to each listing showing the error before submitting:

    1. Change the currency selection from US$ to C$.
    2. Update your prices and shipping costs to adjust for listing in CAD instead of USD.

Updating your listings to CAD with the eBay Listing Migration Tool

  • Convert your listing prices to CAD using the eBay Listing Migration Tool

    When you use the eBay Listing Migration Tool, you can convert the prices on one or many listings using the exchange rate of your choice. The Tool will create new draft listings based on your old USD listings, with all prices and shipping costs converted to CAD. The drafts will be saved in Selling Manager on eBay.ca. You must then log into your eBay account and go to Selling Manager. From Selling Manager, you can review your listings, make any desired changes, and submit them to go live immediately or at a later date. You must publish your drafts from your eBay account to make them live.

Moving your listings to eBay.com with the eBay Listing Migration Tool

  • Move your listings to eBay.com using the eBay Listing Migration Tool

    If you’d rather keep your listings in USD and migrate them to eBay.com, the eBay Listing Migration Tool can make the process easier. Your new listings will still be in USD, so you don’t need to change your prices.

    When you list on eBay.com, setting up shipping is different than on eBay.ca. The Tool will automatically map your eBay.ca shipping selections to the best equivalent option on eBay.com. The Tool will then create draft listings for you in Selling Manager on eBay.com. You must then log into your eBay account and go to Selling Manager. From Selling Manager, you can review your draft listings, make any desired changes, and submit them to go live immediately or at a later date. You must publish your drafts from your eBay account to make them live.

Revise Your Item

eBay is not making any changes to the Revise Your Item process. While your listing is live, you can continue to revise your live listings normally, even if they were created on eBay.ca in USD. While you cannot revise the listing currency of a live listing, you can use the eBay Listing Migration Tool to help you change your listings to CAD if you want to convert them.

Good ‘Til Cancelled listings

Beginning in August, Good ‘Til Cancelled listings created in USD on eBay.ca will no longer renew. Exact dates will be communicated to affected sellers well in advance. To remain live, USD Good ‘Til Cancelled listings on eBay.ca will need to be either converted to CAD listings or moved to eBay.com. Either way, the eBay Listing Migration Tool can help you.
