Overview

Starting now, Canadian sellers who are either US Top Rated or who have an eBay Store subscription can boost the visibility of their listings by using the promoted listings feature on eBay.com.

In addition, starting April 1, 2017, Canadian Anchor Store subscribers and Canadian sellers who are US Top Rated will receive quarterly credits for use toward promoted listings on eBay.com.

In summer 2017, we'll introduce a Canadian version of promoted listings on eBay.ca—watch our Announcements Board for updates.

In addition, Canadian Anchor Store subscribers on either eBay.ca or eBay.com will be eligible to receive a US$25 credit each quarter that can also be used to promote their listings on eBay.com, starting April 2017.

  • What are promoted listings?

Promoted listings is an advertising service on eBay.com that puts sellers’ merchandise in front of more active eBay shoppers, which may boost item exposure and increase the likelihood of a sale.

Sellers choose the fees they want to pay to promote their items and only pay a promoted listing fee when their items sell.

The promoted listings feature on eBay.com is now open to all Canadian sellers with Store subscriptions on either eBay.ca or eBay.com.

Later in summer 2017, we'll introduce a Canadian version of promoted listings on eBay.ca.

  • Why should I use promoted listings?

    Sellers who use promoted listings:

    • May receive increased item visibility
    • Only pay promoted listing fees when items sell
    • Have access to real-time reporting of their promoted listings to monitor success

Canadians with Anchor Store subscriptions on either eBay.ca or eBay.com are eligible to receive a US$25 promoted listings credit each quarter, and Canadians who are US Top Rated—whether or not they meet the tracking upload requirements—will be eligible to receive a US$30 listings credit each quarter. If you are both an eBay US Top Rated seller and an Anchor Store subscriber, you are eligible to receive a promoted listings credit of US$55 each quarter.

  • Where can I find additional information about promoted listings?

You can learn more about the promoted listings feature on eBay.com on our help page.

  • Who is eligible to receive quarterly promoted listings credits?

Canadian US Top Rated sellers and Anchor Store subscribers are eligible to receive promoted listings credits:

    • Beginning April 1, 2017, Canadian sellers with Anchor Store subscriptions on either eBay.ca or eBay.com are eligible to receive a US$25 quarterly credit.
    • Beginning April 1, 2017, Canadian sellers who are US Top Rated—regardless of whether they meet the tracking upload requirements—are eligible to receive a US$30 quarterly credit.
    • Anchor Store subscribers who are also Top Rated Sellers are eligible to receive both credits, totalling US$55 per quarter.
  • How do I start using promoted listings?

Go to www.ebay.com/getpromotedlistings to get started.

  • When will the promoted listings credit appear on my invoice?

After you use eBay’s promoted listings advertising service, you will see a credit on your monthly invoice each quarter. This credit will be for the amount used up to the maximum credit amount (e.g. US$30 for Top Rated sellers, US$25 for Anchor Store subscribers, US$55 for Canadian sellers who are both US Top Rated and Anchor Store subscribers).

We credit at the end of each month for the promoted listings credit amount used up to a maximum of US$30 per quarter. Once your credits are used, you will pay the ad fees based on the ad rate you select for your promoted listings campaigns.

Example: If you earn US$30 in quarterly listing credits, and in Month 1 of the quarter you spend US$15 on promoted listings ads, you will be charged US$15 on your next invoice and receive a US$15 credit. If in Month 2 of the quarter you spend US$10, you will be charged US$10 on your next invoice and receive a US$10 credit. If in Month 3 of the quarter you spend US$10, you will be charged US$10 on your next invoice and receive a US$5 credit (the remainder of the US$30 credit).

  • Do my quarterly credits for promoted listings expire?

Yes. All unused credits for promoted listings expire at the end of the quarter and will not be carried over to the next quarter.

  • Do I have to be a US Top Rated Seller for all three months of a quarter to receive the credit?

Each quarter, you are eligible to receive a US$30 promoted listings credit as long as you were a US Top Rated Seller for at least one month during that quarter.

  • Do I need to meet the tracking upload requirement of the US Top Rated program in order to qualify for the promoted listings credit?

Canadian sellers do not need to meet the tracking upload requirements in order to qualify as US Top Rated and receive the US$30 promoted listings credit.

  • Do I need to subscribe to an Anchor Store on eBay.com in order to receive the promoted listings credit?

Canadian sellers who have an Anchor Store subscription on either eBay.ca or eBay.com are eligible for the US$25 promoted listings credit.

  • Why can't I promote my eBay.ca listings using promoted listings on eBay.com?

For the time being, the promoted listings feature on eBay.com only supports listings created on eBay.com. Later in summer 2017, we'll introduce a Canadian version of promoted listings on eBay.ca.
