Buyers are now opting in to the new eBay shopping cart on eBay.com and it will be coming to eBay Canada in the near future. If you don't already, specify shipping charges in your listings and specify combined shipping rules in My eBay. When you specify shipping cost buyers can check out with the Shopping Cart right away, without having to request an invoice from you with the shipping amount included. Combined shipping discounts properly specified in My eBay will be prominently displayed in the cart, an encouragement for buyers to buy more from you.

New minimum global standards will take effect in May and must be met in order to sell on eBay.ca (and all other eBay sites except US, UK and Germany). Check your Seller Dashboard for more insight on transactions with buyers around the world. If you are below the minimum Global standards, review these best practices to bring up your DSRs. Run a DSR report by country to find the source of any low DSRs. If these scores are having a material impact on your Global standards, consider not selling to these countries. The new global standards will be enforced starting May 20.
April 4:Category and item specifics changes take effect in Cameras & Photo, Cell Phones & PDAs, Clothing, Shoes & Accessories, Collectibles, the US eBay Motors site (Vehicles and Parts & Accessories) and Video Games. If you sell in these categories, edit listings if needed to ensure proper categorization and item specifics. Use tips and tools to edit and update listings.
April 4: New item specific values will be available in Clothing, Shoes & Accessories categories. Brand, Style, Colour, Size Type and Size will be required starting May 9 for all new, revised, and sell similar listings. Start using the new values as soon as they are available—don't wait until May.
April 19: New Standard fees for Auction-style listings take effect, including Final Value Fees extended to cover the total amount of the sale—including shipping. If you don't currently have a Store subscription and you sell more than 50 items a month Auction-style, you'll most likely benefit from the overall discounted rates that come with an eBay Store subscription. See the fee chart to understand how your fees will change, then use the fee calculator to estimate what your fees will be for a specific listing.
May 9: In Clothing, Shoes & Accessories categories, item specifics for Brand, Style, Colour, Size Type and Size are now required for new, revised and sell similar listings. A new report is now available through Advanced Search in Selling Manager and Selling Manager Pro to help you identify any listings that do not have the required item specifics. Use bulk editing functionality to make your edits and get your listings in front of more buyers.
Review the new communications page in My eBay (watch the Announcement Board for notification that it's available). You can now manage your communications with buyers from just one location. See the emails that eBay sends to buyers after a transaction, manage your buyer-facing Automated Answers, and access your Store newsletters.
Early June:Shipping service changes take effect on eBay.ca. Revise any Good 'Til Cancelled listings that use the "Standard Delivery" or "Expedited Delivery" domestic services and switch to a different shipping service - either one of the branded Canada Post or UPS Canada services, or one of the new generic Economy, Standard, Expedited or Express services.
You can also now specify shipping information (carrier and cost) for more international buyers. This is especially important if you ship to the US, because specifying shipping information to the US will be required in August in order to maintain free exposure on eBay.com for your eBay.ca listings. And later this year, Canadian listings that specify international shipping to Australia and the UK will receive increased exposure by being displayed in the main search results for these eBay sites.
Mid June: New way to shop for popular products comes to cell phone, camera, and video game categories.
June 30: Support for third-party checkout ends. Make sure to migrate all your listings to eBay Checkout to avoid disruption to your sales.
July 6: All Fixed Price (Store and non-Store subscribers) and Store Auction-style Final Value Fee rates reduced and applied to the total amount of sale—including shipping. To understand how your fees will change, see the fee chart. Use the fee calculator to estimate what your fees will be for a specific listing. If you sell more than 50 items a month Fixed Price, you might benefit from the overall discounted rates that come with an eBay Store subscription. The Fee Illustrator can help determine which eBay Store subscription may best fit your needs.
Mid-August: Specifying shipping information on items you're making available to the US, UK and Australia, is now required.
