Seller Checklist

Checklist items with this symbol may require updates to your listings. To save time, try to consolidate these changes. Find out how eBay's tips and tools to edit listings and our new bulk edit functionality will make it faster and easier to make changes to your listings.

Starting Now
Review the new item condition values in categories where you sell, and start adopting them as soon as they are available. They're now available in the Cell Phones & PDAs category; other categories will be available on May 10. See which categories will require it with the item condition look up table. Between now and July 27, 2010, item condition is optional, but it will be required for all new listings, revised listings and sell similar in select categories beginning July 27. Get familiar with the new conditions and begin applying them now.
Are you a Microsoft Excel user and list on eBay.com? Go to eBay.com and download the new eBay Plug-in for Excel which allows you to manage your listings right in Excel 2007. It handles up to 5,000 listings at a time and is available now on eBay.com.
Review the new seller performance standard requirements applicable on eBay.com. Starting in September, eBay will consider the number of Buyer Protection cases opened against a seller in addition to DSR requirements to determine seller status on eBay.com. Start implementing best practices now to avoid opened cases and seller unresolved cases.

In May
New item condition definitions will be available in select categories on May 10. Using item condition is optional through July 27, but we recommend you begin including it in your listings as soon as possible.

In June
The new bulk edit functionality will be available to select sellers as a test in June and to more sellers over the following weeks. When you see the opt-in link in the bulk edit, relist and sell similar flows, give it a try, and let us know what you think. If you want to try the new advanced search functionality, subscribe to either Selling Manager (FREE) or Selling Manager Pro ($15.95/month, FREE for Premium and Anchor Store subscribers).
Get more rewards for your photos chosen to be part of the eBay catalog on eBay.com. Starting in June, if your photo is selected to be in the catalog, you'll receive 5 free Subtitle credits in addition to the extra exposure you get with your user ID and a link to your profile page each time your photo's displayed on eBay.com. If you've opted out of the program in the past, you can opt back in whenever you like. Just go to eBay.com and click on the Account tab in My eBay, select Site Preferences, then Selling Preferences and follow the instructions beside "Share your photos."
Anonymous email addresses will begin to roll out onsite to help ensure that user information is kept even more secure. They will be introduced slowly throughout the summer. Check to see if your internal systems require changes.
Review the category and item specifics changes, and apply them to your listings if you sell in those categories.

In July
On July 27, item condition becomes mandatory in certain categories for all new listings, revised listings and sell similar. See which categories will require it with the item condition look up table. Now's the time to update your listings. Consider using the new bulk functionality—available now to all sellers—to make your edits.
