Selling on eBay is a great way to cash in on stuff you no longer use. The best way to learn how is to dive in, get started, and then sell again. Get ready to sell
  1. Set up a seller account.
    • Register to sell even if you have a buyer account.
    • Create a PayPal account to accept online payments securely.
  2. Pick and price your item right through research.
    • Choose what to sell-start with something easy to ship that you don't mind parting with, whatever price it brings (not your grandmother's heirloom pearls).
    • Do a search for similar items-both currently for sale and completed listings-to get an idea of pricing and shipping costs of your competitors. Note their titles, photos, and how they described the item.
  3. Prepare your photos and description.

List your item
  1. Start with the Sell your item form. Here you'll add your title, pictures, description, and shipping and payment options.
  2. Enter your PayPal account to accept online payments.
  3. Select how you want to ship.
    • Consider Canada Post Flat Rate boxes or use the Shipping Calculator to estimate postage.

Sell and ship
  1. Stay on top of questions and payments in My eBay.
  2. Ship packages promptly and save a trip to the Post Office.
    • When you receive payment notification, ship promptly.
    • Print and pay for shipping labels right from your own computer. Simply log in to My eBay and with a few clicks, print and pay for a label pre-addressed with your buyer's information. By printing labels online, you save time and money, and your buyer is automatically notified of the shipment.
  3. Wrap up with your buyer. Give your buyer positive feedback in My eBay to build trust in you as a seller.
