Athletic Shoes Fee FAQs
Sell sneakers CAD $100 and up. Pay no selling fees.

Which fees are being eliminated in the Athletic Shoes category?

For Men’s and Women’s sneakers in the Athletic Shoes category (“Fashion> Shoes>Men's Shoes> Men's Athletic Shoes” and “Fashion > Shoes > Women's Shoes > Women's Athletic Shoes”), eBay has made the following fee changes:

The insertion fee charged when an item is listed for sale (also known as the “listing fee”) is free if the starting price* of the item listed is CAD $100 or more, not including shipping, handling, taxes, duties and fees.

In addition, the final value fee charged when an item sells (also known as the “selling fee”) is 0% if the selling price** of the item is CAD $100 or more, not including shipping, handling, taxes, duties or fees.

Other fees may apply. Learn more about eBay’s fees here.

Do the reduced fees apply to the Kids’ and Babies’ Athletic Shoes category?

No. The 0% final value fee and the CAD $0 insertion fee only apply to the Men’s and Women’s Athletic Shoes categories, if the criteria for each type of fee are met.

What happens to listings that I posted before the fee changes? Do I need to relist those to get the 0% final value fee?

You do not have to relist to receive the 0% final value fee. The 0% final value fees will apply to items sold for CAD $100 or more after the effective date of the fee change, even if the listing was created before the effective date of the fee change.

The insertion fee is free for listings created after the effective date of the fee change if the starting price of the item listed is for CAD $100 or more.

Other fees may apply. Learn more here.

What if my item sells for under CAD $100 but sales tax or other charges increase the total price to CAD $100 or more?

Your item will not qualify for the 0% final value fee. The selling price of your item needs to be CAD $100 or more, not including shipping, handling, taxes, duties or other charges to qualify for the reduced fee.

If I list my item in a second category, will I be charged an insertion and final value fee?

If you list your item in a second category, the final value fees for that category will be applied and an insertion fee will be charged. Other fees may also apply. Learn more here.

Do I have to mark anything special in the listing flow to make sure I get the reduced fees?

You will need to select only the Men’s or Women’s Athletic Shoes category to receive the reduced fees.

What if a buyer uses coupons funded by eBay or eBay Bucks on the purchase so the actual amount paid to me for the item is less than CAD $100?

The final value fee will be calculated on the full sale price, not including shipping, handling, taxes, duties or fees, before coupons funded by eBay or eBay Bucks are applied.

If I list an auction at 99 cents and it sells for CAD $100 or greater, will I get the reduced fees?

You will qualify for the 0% final value fee if your item sells for CAD $100 or more, excluding shipping, handling, taxes, duties or fees.

However you will be charged an insertion fee when you list your item since your starting price was 99 cents. The insertion fee is CAD $0 only when items are listed at a starting price of CAD $100 or more, excluding shipping, handling, taxes, duties, or fees. See here for more details on fees.
