What you need to know
- Two new eBay Stores subscriptions—Starter and Enterprise—will launch on eBay.com, with eBay.ca to follow later in 2018.

- eBay Stores will be updated to provide a new and enhanced shopping experience, and will improve search engine and mobile optimization.
New eBay Stores subscriptions
We currently offer three eBay Store subscriptions: Basic, Premium, and Anchor. Starting May 1, 2018, eBay.com will introduce two new eBay Stores subscriptions—Starter and Enterprise—with the new subscriptions to be introduced on eBay.ca later in 2018. The expanded spectrum of Store subscriptions will provide you with a Store subscription option that meets your specific business needs and goals.
Starter Store subscription
If you list more than 50 items each month, the new Starter Store subscription on eBay.com will give you the tools you need to grow your business.

Enterprise Store subscription
The Enterprise Store subscription will provide high-volume sellers with an upgrade option and additional benefits.

Enterprise Store subscribers will also be able to purchase additional zero insertion fee listings in add-on bundles if they intend to list more than 100,000 items per month.

*Purchased bundles must be used within the calendar month.
Subscription fee updates on eBay.com
Starting May 2018, the yearly fee for a Basic Store subscription on eBay.com will change from $19.95/month to $21.95/month. The monthly fee for a Basic Store subscription on eBay.com will change from $24.95/month to $27.95/month.
Starting May 2018, insertion fees will increase for non-Store sellers and Basic Store subscribers on eBay.com when you exceed your zero insertion fee allocation:
- Non-Store. When you exceed your 50 zero insertion fee allocation, the insertion fee will change from $0.30 to $0.35
- Starter Store. When you exceed your 100 zero insertion fee allocation, the insertion fee per listing will be $0.30
- Basic Store. When you exceed your 250 zero insertion fee allocation in fixed price listings, the insertion fee for each fixed price listing will change from $0.20 to $0.25
There is no change to Premium and Anchor Store subscriptions on eBay.com, and no change for any Store subscription level on eBay.ca. When the new Store subscriptions are introduced on eBay.ca later in 2018, there may be an associated fee update at that time. We’ll share more information once details are finalized.

Why is eBay making this change?
Starting May 2018, eBay.com will add two new eBay Stores subscriptions—a Starter subscription and an Enterprise subscription—to expand our spectrum of eBay Stores subscriptions and provide all sellers with a "best fit" Store subscription option. The introduction of these new Store subscriptions to sellers on eBay.ca will happen later in 2018.

If I sign up for a Starter Store on eBay.com, what happens to my zero insertion fee allocation on eBay.ca?
There will be no change to your zero insertion fee allocation on eBay.ca. If you sign up for a Starter Store on eBay.com, your zero insertion fee allocation will be 100 fixed price or auction-style listings per month. You’ll also continue to receive a zero insertion fee allocation of 50 fixed price or auction-style listings per month on eBay.ca.

Am I required to sign up for an eBay Store?
No. You are not required to sign up for an eBay Store.

If I already have a Basic Store on eBay.com, will anything change?
If you are subscribed to a Basic Store on eBay.ca, nothing will change for you in May 2018.
If you are subscribed to a Basic Store on eBay.com, starting May 2018, the yearly fee for a Basic Store subscription on eBay.com will change from $19.95/month to $21.95/month. Why should I subscribe to an eBay Store?
eBay Stores create a central shopping destination where buyers can learn more about you and your merchandise. eBay Store benefits include free listings and discounted final value fees, exclusive marketing and merchandising tools, plus customization features to build a brand that keeps customers coming back.

If I sign up for an eBay Store and I don't like the experience, can I cancel?
If you're not sure how long you will keep your Store, you should sign up for a monthly subscription. Cancellation of a monthly Store subscription will not result in an early termination fee (ETF).

What happens to my listings if I open an eBay Store?
If you currently have listings, the only change to your existing listings will be a link to your storefront, which will appear on the View Item page.

What will happen to my Good 'Til Cancelled listings if I open an eBay Store?
If your listings are Good 'Til Cancelled, they will be renewed under the new Store listing fee structure.

What will happen if I close my eBay Store?
Fixed duration and Good 'Til Cancelled listings will remain live and active. However, they will be subject to the non-Store fee structure.

Is there a monthly subscription option for an Enterprise Store?
Not at this time. We will notify sellers if a monthly subscription option becomes available for Enterprise Stores.
New eBay Stores shopping experience
Starting in May 2018, we will begin updating eBay Stores globally to provide a new shopping experience. The newly-designed experience is intended to improve search engine optimization (SEO), enhance the mobile web experience, and provide new merchandising opportunities for eBay Stores subscribers. The new experience will also be active content-free and HTTPS-ready.

The new eBay Stores design will look similar to eBay’s home page and other category pages, and will be integrated into the core eBay shopping experience.
Showcase your items for buyers
The new Store design will provide you with an opportunity to showcase your items in new customizable modules. You'll be able to reorder the modules to your liking and add custom imagery, such as for a retail moment or sale event. Below is an example of the new Stores shopping experience. These new customizable modules will follow the launch later in the year.

Optimized experience
The new Store design is optimized for display on mobile devices such as mobile phones and tablets. It does not contain any active content, and is fully secure and HTTPS-compliant. Below is an example of the new eBay Stores shopping experience in mobile web.

New eBay Stores experience update schedule
The majority of sellers' Stores will be updated automatically starting in May 2018. If you have custom pages or a fully custom storefront, you will be able to move to the new experience at the same time, or we will move your Store at a later date.
As a result of these enhancements, in May 2018, the URL for your Store will change. Currently, Store URLs have the following format:
https://stores.ebay.ca/StoreName
In May 2018, it will change to:
When your Store has been made HTTPS-compliant, an ‘s’ will be added to the ‘http’ in your URL, so that your final URL will have the following format:
https://ebay.ca/str/StoreName

Why is eBay making this change?
Starting in May 2018, we will update eBay Stores to provide a new and enhanced shopping experience. Our updated platform is intended to improve search engine optimization, mobile web optimization, better site security, and additional merchandising opportunities.

What should I do if my eBay Store doesn't change by the end of May?
If your Store hasn’t been updated by the end of May, your Store may use custom pages or contain HTML. These Stores will be migrated on a different timeline.

Do I have to do anything to update my eBay Store?
No. If you don't have custom pages or HTML, we will update your Store automatically. If you do have custom pages or HTML, you may be required to make updates. However, this process will happen later in 2018, and will be communicated in advance.

Will my eBay Store subscription fee change?
Your Store subscription fee will not change as a result of these changes.

Can I update my Store to include contact information to resolve customer issues?
As a reminder, business and personal contact information, such as email addresses, phone numbers, and links to sites off-eBay, isn’t permitted anywhere on eBay, including Store pages and other member-created content.
If you wish to provide your customer service phone number for post-transaction support, you can use one of eBay's features that make your customer service phone number available when a buyer uses "Contact Seller." You can opt into the feature within "Manage communication with buyers" in your account settings.
