Seller Portal tips and troubleshooting
Stay up to date with coupon invitations
We recommend visiting the Seller Portal regularly to ensure you don’t miss any coupon invitations or updates.
You might miss an email invitation if:
- You’ve opted out of marketing emails
- The email on file differs from the one you use
- The message goes to your spam or junk folder
Logging in directly to the Seller Portal is the best way to stay informed and access your latest offers.
A quick guide to Seller Portal
Introduction to Coupon Promotions
Coupon promotions help sellers increase visibility and sales by offering discounts to buyers.
When a seller accepts a coupon contract the seller’s inventory is automatically enrolled with the discount applied. Sellers don’t need to manually create coded coupons or separate discounts in Seller Hub.
How Coupon Promotions Work
- eBay invites you to a coupon: Active coupons appear in the Seller Portal calendar and in your “to-do list” on the homepage.
- You accept the contract for a coupon: Your participation is confirmed only after you accept the related contract in the Seller Portal.
- eBay executes the coupon: The coupon activates on the specified start date. eBay promotes the coupon on eBay sites.
Getting Started with the Seller Portal
How to Register and Log In
- Once eBay confirms your access and you’ve received your invitation email (if you’re subscribed to marketing communications), log in to the Seller Portal by clicking the “eBay Login” blue button using your existing eBay credentials.
- If you were invited by your Seller Owner to access the Seller Portal for managing coupons, use the username and instruction provided to you in an email.
Access Issues
- If your account isn’t yet active, you’ll see a ‘Problem signing in’ message.
- Contact eBay Support if this happens.
Accepting Coupon Contracts
Steps to Review and Sign a Coupon Contract
- Click the ‘Contract’ tab on the individual coupon record to open the contract details.
- Review the full contract and the ‘Coupon Terms and Conditions’ carefully. (Note: It is prohibited to increase prices during coupon campaign participation.)
- Click ‘I agree’ to accept and confirm participation.
After Acceptance
- A PDF copy of the confirmed contract automatically downloads for your reference.
- You can re-download it later via the download button.
If Declining
- Click ‘Decline’ to withdraw from the coupon.
Invoicing to Sellers
- eBay will refresh coupon redemptions (including returns and/or cancellations) and issue an invoice within 90 days after the coupon’s end date.
- The cost of coupon redemptions will appear on the seller’s monthly eBay fee invoice. There is no separate billing for coupons.
